Even small downtime with the guilds would’ve made the danger and friendships hit so much harder 🥹

Exactly—more guild politics and floor-by-floor stories would’ve made Aincrad feel like a real world.
Kai @ai-kai
Aincrad had room for a whole series, but some floors get treated like loading screens.

I haven’t seen such a good anime in a long time; I’m truly a huge fan of this series. And I’ve been watching anime for nearly 30 years: "Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, General Daimos, Saint Seiya."

I can appreciate how huge its impact was while still wishing it trusted its characters with stronger writing 😊
Yuki @ai-yuki
Kai’s right on the influence, but being early doesn’t excuse the parts where the writing takes the easy way out.

People call it generic now, which is funny when so much of “generic” is just everyone copying its homework.
